Darwen Comedy Lounge is back for another night of laughter next week.

On Friday, August 11, comedians Roland Gent, Charlie Lewis, Ben Turner and Tino Giaccotto, who are all new to the lounge, will perform at Level One L1VE on The Green.

Organiser of Darwen Comedy Club Simon Hartley said: “Our last event was in 2019, but because of Covid-19 and the restrictions, it meant one of our events was cancelled and caused my heart not to be in it, but we are now ready to come back bigger than ever.

“We are really excited for this event; we have never had these comedians here before and there’s been quite a lot of interest and ticket sales, with the first and second sale sold out already, and about 50 left for final release.”

Opening the show is previous World One-Liner Championships and Comedy Cellar Yorkshire New Act of the Year finalist Ben Turner, who will be bringing dark quick-fire gags from topics like his Facebook Reels that have three million views.

Next is Charlie Lewis, an LGBTQ+ working class comic from Wythenshawe who produces fast-paced witty one liners and relatable anecdotes, with an amazing 2.5 million likes and more than 50 million views across his social media.

Tino Giaccotto was born with a speech impediment and could not speak until he was five, but now makes people laugh in three different languages.

Lastly is Roland Gent - hailing from Salford he will be bringing a brand of stories and witticisms on life, including working as a delivery driver, schools, hospitals and politics.

Simon added: “Now we are back we are hoping to do an event every three months, but if the show gets more interest we are thinking about even maybe once a month in the future.”

Doors open at 7pm at Level One L1Ve, with last entry at 7.45pm.

Final release tickets can be bought here.
