Burnley Radio 1 presenter Jordan North has been forced to defend himself on social media, after fans said he looked like a man in a police appeal.

Earlier this month police released a CCTV image of man they would like to speak to in relation to a burglary at Burnley Cemetery offices.

After posting the appeal on social media, some were quick to joke that the person in the image looked similar to the 33-year-old celebrity.

Jordan said the appeal has been sent to him by “quite a few people”, joking that he “has an alibi”.

He said: “Okay, I’ve not been back home for about six week, also I’ve got an alibi.

“If anyone asks, we were in the pub and had two pints of Guinness and a packet of cheese and onion [crisps].”

Lancashire Police even spotted Jordan’s Instagram posts, writing that they will “be in touch”.

“Oh no, I hope this is a joke,” Jordan responded.

Police still want to speak to the individual in the CCTV image.

The burglary was reported at around 9.45pm on Monday, June 19.

Anyone with information is asked to call 101 or 4350@lancashire.police.uk quoting log 1520 of June 19.
