A police operation has seen mounted police take to the streets in an effort to crack down on crime and anti-social behaviour.

The move came as part of Operation Rally in the Rishton area over the course of Friday, which saw officers visit businesses and schools.

Officers were also involved in targeting off road bikers and anti-social drivers.

A Lancashire Police spokesperson said: “We have visited businesses around High Street, St Peter and St Pauls School and sheltered accommodation at Eachill Gardens.

“Taskforce officers have been targeting anti-social drivers and off-road bike users.

“We been revisiting anti-social behaviour and crime offenders and patrolling hotspots including Maple Crescent, Cut Wood Park and the Golf Club.

“That’s included a walk-about with two Rishton Councillors who have shown us the problems that are reported to them.

“Our Mounted officers have made a school visit and patrolled Spring St, the White Path and the Esplanade area.

“This afternoon we also visited a number of premises with colleagues from Trading Standards and done spot checks including supply of alcohol and vapes.

“If you’re out during the evening you’ll be seeing Neighbourhood officers visiting licensed premises and patrolling the ASB hotspots.
