A dementia care charity is hosting a pre-loved and sustainable fashion fundraiser event next month.

Age Concern Central Lancashire, a dementia care charity for over 65s, is running the Handbags and Gladrags event for the fourth year.

The event will be held at Lostock Hall Conservative Club in Lostock Hall from 7pm to 11.30pm on Friday, July 7.

Handbags and Gladrags is an evening event that celebrates sustainable fashion so guests are asked to donate a pre-loved handbag, dress or bits of jewellery.

The donated items will be sold in the charity’s shops or be sold on the night of the event along with some of the existing stock.

The event will offer guests with a glass, or multiple, of fizz while DJ Raf will provide the music throughout the night.

A spokesperson for the charity said: “We are excited to announce that the much-loved Handbags and Gladrags event is back for its 4th annual instalment, and it's all for a good cause.

“Charity events can feel overly serious, but Handbags and Gladrags is anything but. Dress up, let your hair down, and enjoy a night out for a good cause.

“By purchasing a ticket, you not only get to attend this amazing event, but you also get to contribute to Age Concern Central Lancashire's efforts to support the elderly in our community.

“But that's not all! Handbags and Gladrags is the perfect opportunity for a night out with the girls. Dance the night away to the beats of DJ Raf, and enjoy delicious food from The Lovely Cowshed.

“Sip on your favourite drinks, grab a photo in our magic mirror, and get your chance to win some fantastic raffle prizes.”

You can purchase tickets from the shops with no added fees or online here.
