A man in his 30s has died after suffering a head injury in a crash with a 16-year-old pedestrian.
At 6pm on Sunday (June 4), police were called to the junction of Skeffington Road and Ribbleton Lane where a pedestrian crossed the road and was involved in a crash with the cycle, a Kona mountain bike modified to be an e-bike.
The bike rider, a man in his 30s from Preston, was taken to hospital with a serious head injury and sadly died later.
His family are being supported by a specially trained officer and our thoughts are with them at this time.
The pedestrian, a boy aged 16 from Preston, was also taken to hospital with a broken leg and internal injuries. Those injuries are not thought to be life threatening.
Police are now appealing for witnesses after the fatal crash.
Sgt Chris Evans, of the Road Policing Unit, said: “This collision has very sadly cost a man his life and my thoughts are with his loved ones at this time.
“I would appeal to anyone who saw the incident or who has any information to come forward and contact police.”
Anyone with information should call 101 quoting log 1150 of June 4.
