A woman sent threatening voicemails to another female who had the benefit of a court order which involved the caller’s children.

Blackburn magistrates heard Alexandra Gregson sent a message calling the other woman a grass and saying she would “sort her out.”

She also told her: “Play out with the big girls and I will chew you up and spit you out.”

The court was told the victim felt scared and intimidated for herself and her family.

“She felt the defendant was capable of carrying out the threats she made,” said Raffi Khan, prosecuting.

Daniel Frazer, defending, said there had also been voicemails from the aggrieved.

“She actually sent the first message,” said Mr Frazer. “In it she called my client a prostitute who would spread her legs for anyone and threatened to shame her on Facebook. She also said she was not scared of my client.”

Gregson, 33, of Troutbeck Close, Burnley, pleaded guilty to sending a menacing message. She was made subject to a community order for 12 months with a 25-day rehab activity requirement. She was made subject to a restraining order for 12 months which prohibits any contact with the victim, fined £80 and ordered to pay £85 costs and £114 victim surcharge.

Mr Khan said at the time of the offence in August Gregson was subject to prison licence having been jailed in January for offences of criminal damage and racially aggravated harassment.

Mr Frazer said that since August Gregson had been in and out of prison and was now on an alcohol monitoring tag.

“There has been no further contact with the aggrieved or her family,” said Mr Frazer. “On the night she had too much to drink and said things which she now regrets.”
