GRAFFITI vandals had left the bowls pavilion at Rhyddings Park, Oswaldtwistle, in a terrible state when this photo was taken in February 1989.
As you can see, virtually all of the ‘hut’ was covered with spray paint.
It would appear as though the vandals were music fans as they had daubed the names of some of their favourites on the wall including the Stranglers, the UK Subs, New Order and SLF - the Irish band Stiff Little Fingers.
Although it was wanton vandalism, for us today it also provides an interesting piece of social history.
Hopefully Pete, Rob and Kev are ashamed of their handiwork all those years ago!
