A foodbank, which allows struggling families to shop with choice and dignity, has opened in Burnley.
Down Town Community Grocery opened at Charter Walk shopping centre on Tuesday (May 16) and is a redevelopment of Burnley FC’s community food bank.
The aim of the site is to bridge the gap between food banks and supermarkets by helping struggling people with their weekly food shops.

A £5 membership allows members to get multiple £4 shops a week, each consisting of 12 products across shelf items, fridge and freezer section, fruit and veg, and the bakery.
Pictures have emerged of the food bank, which looks like a regular shop, with fully stacked shelves and staff ready to serve customers.
It is the second Community Grocery to open in Burnley, after the first one opened on Valley Street last year.
