Boy George is set to star in J.M. Barrie’s Peter Pan and the show is coming to a Lancashire town later this year.

From Thursday, October 26 to Sunday, October 29, Peter Pan fans can attend shows in Blackpool.

Boy George will take on the role of Captain Hook and he said: “I’m really looking forward to playing Captain Hook and showing off my evil side!

"I make my first entrance on a life size galleon that sails around the stage in front of an amazing water-wall fountain.

“Although the show has traditional pantomime elements, it is so much more, being a mix of cirque and spectacular event … and I get a chance to fight a giant animatronic crocodile. What’s not to like?”

Real Housewives Of Beverly Hills’ Dorit Kemsley will play the mermaid in her stage debut.

Dorit said: “I am so excited to work with George who is a dear friend and godfather to my children Jagger and Phoenix, who will also be in the show as part of Peter Pan’s gang.”

A cast of 50 includes 12 cirque performers, aerial stunts and a large troupe of Irish and Highland dancers.

The audience will also get to throw cannonballs at Hook’s ship and they’ll see a death-defying escape from a locked water tank by rising comedy star Jordan Conway who will play Peter Pan.
