Lancashire Telegraph: Thousands of fans lined the streets to celebrate Burnley FC’s return to the Premier League.

One of the thousands of Clarets fans in attendance, Michael Stockwell, said: "It's been probably the best football I've seen. I've been a supporter here for donkey's years now. We played a different style under Sean Dyche and under Vincent Kompany it's been more like Premier League football, hopefully that's how we'll play next season.

"I didn't think this many people would turn up. It's been fantastic for the town and it's recognised what we've done. I think we've been one of the best teams in the Championship, ever. We've absolutely stormed it, the record speaks for itself."

Another supporter, David Horner, said: "We've always punched above our weight in Burnley, which we enjoy doing. Even going back to my dad's era in the 50s and 60s we punched above our weight. I think we've done a remarkable job."

On his hopes and expectations for next season, David added: "Obviously it's all about not being lower than 17th, but with Vincent Kompany I don't know. That guy is going to go a long way. He's got such a good knowledge of football and he's just a winner. And when you're a winner, anything can happen."
