Blackburn and the surrounding areas has a great selection of restaurants and takeaways to get your pizza fix.

Here are some of your favourites, according to reviews left on TripAdvisor.

 

Caesars Pizza Palace

First up on our list in Caesars Pizza Palace on Feilden Street, which comes in with a total score of 4.5 stars out of 5 from 10 reviews.

It ranks fourth out of 20 for pizza in Blackburn and 56th out of 140 total restaurants in the town.

One review said: “I’ve tried pizza from most places in Blackburn and Caesars is in a league of its own. The chef actually takes pride in his work and it shows in the product. Will definitely go back.”

The restaurant initially closed in December 2018 but re-opened at its new site less than a year later, to the delight of its regulars.

 

Checco’s – Great Harwood

Checco’s sits on Whalley Road just outside Great Harwood and boasts a score of four stars from a massive 232 reviews.

Out of Italian restaurants in Blackburn it places fourth out of 11 and is ranked 28th out of all restaurants.

One review said: “We didn’t know about this place until we happened to drive past it last week. Nice seating/waiting area, traditional Italian interior with candles in the evening, very friendly staff and good choice of menu.

According to most reviews this place is more of a sit-down joint, but they offer takeaway as well for you to enjoy their extensive menu in the comfort of your home too.

 

Pizza Italia

Based in Cherry Tree on Preston Old Road, Pizza Italia is another that comes in with 4.5 stars, ranking eighth of 11 Italian restaurants in Blackburn and 75th out of all restaurants.

One review said: “A very enjoyable evening meal, varied menu, suits all types, Italian and English food.”

Another said: “This place is very good. Proper authentic pizza. Always ready on time. Friendly service and good value. They also do excellent pasta dishes, risottos and desserts. Well worth a visit, highly recommend.”

 

Amalfi Lounge – Darwen

This restaurant on Duckworth Street in Darwen boasts an excellent four stars from its 628 reviews and comes in at 4.5 stars each for its food, service, value, and atmosphere.

One review said: “Couldn’t rate this highly enough. Really enjoyed the food and the surroundings, the food was amazing and my 73-year-old dad enjoyed it too which is a bonus.

Another said: “Lovely food, lovely service, and great value for money.”

Amalfi also offers delivery though the homely feel inside makes this place look like one to be enjoyed in-person.

 

Marco Polo Pizzeria and Restaurant – Belthorn

The final place on our list is Marco Polo in the village of Belthorn, just outside Blackburn.

The restaurant boasts four stars out of 118 reviews and was on TripAdvisor’s Travellers’ Choice list for 2022.

One review said: “I had a delicious pizza here. Staff were very courteous too. A good experience. I will definitely go back.”

Another said: “Beautiful food, great prices and fantastic service!”
