A Blackburn fight club was invited to compete with some of best kickboxers in the world at a national event.

TMT Harwood Solicitors Fight Club is based on Freckleton Street and members joined 2,500 fighters, coaches and fans at the WKC Scotland Open held at the Braehead Arena in Glasgow.

Fighters made Blackburn 'proud' with their series of fights in front of huge crowds.

Jozef Bartos secured first place in low kick contact.

Jozef Racz finished in second place in low kick contact and the K-1 light contact. Igor Korrenojs finished in third place in the K-1 light contact.

Coach Tibor Toth Miklai said: “What an amazing day of martial arts action. We were simply blown away by the support, teams attending, quality of competitors, and the overall standard of the event. 

“The standard and quality of the competition, coupled with the incredible Braehead Arena, made this event a complete stand out.

“To everyone who was involved from officials, timekeepers, security, first aid, arena management team, photography, spectators, parents, and more importantly competitors, you were all absolutely magnificent.

“We cannot thank you enough for your continued belief and support in our vision and if this tournament is anything to go by it will be a fantastic stepping stone and building block for our next two day event which will be even bigger and more successful."

WKC Scotland welcomes competitors from across the UK with representation from Europe, USA and Canada.

The kickboxing event caters for all styles which range from Kickboxing, Freestyle, Kung Fu, Taekwondo, Low kick and K1 martial artists.
