STUDENTS at Blackburn College were given the chance to voice their opinions on issues surrounding cultural diversity at a recent conference.
More than 200 students attended the event at Jan's Conference Centre, Blackburn, organised by the college's care, health, public services and childhood studies centre.
The aim was to raise awareness of cultural and diversity issues, and topics such as forced marriages and hate crime were addressed.
Melissa Singh, a nursing cadet at the college, said: "The conference helped me to gain an awareness and understanding of the different cultural and diversity issues surrounding us today."
Tutor Pam Eaton added: "The event was a huge success and was greatly appreciated by the students.
"We are hoping to make this conference an annual event, using current topics to suit students on various programmes."
