A motorist was stopped by police in Hoghton after a member of the public reported them for smoking cannabis.

Following the report, the vehicle was stopped on Gregson Lane.

The driver failed a roadside test for cannabis and was also found to be in possession of the drug.

A police spokesperson said: “This vehicle was stopped by HO30 on Gregson Lane, Hoghton.

“The driver had been sighted earlier smoking cannabis inside his by a member of the public.

“The driver failed a Drug Wipe UK for cannabis and was also in possession of the same.”
