Some of the best Asian, British and African cuisines will be showcasing their foods at the first Halal Food Festival at Blackburn Rovers.

The food festival will take place outside the Jack Walker Stand at Ewood Park on Sunday, May 7, and begins at 11am.

The event is being supported by MyKitchenBakery by Hasina Bangi and Bangor Street Community Centre and 100 per cent of ticket sales will be donated to charity.

Half of the money will support the work of Benefit Mankind’s Turkey/Syria Earthquake appeal, while the other half will provide food vouchers for local families in need.

Food stalls include Pit Master, Rafiki East African Barbeque & Grill House, Chaii Café, Shakeys Burgers, Zakzaki Kebab House, Bees Breakfast, Fazila Foods and Desi Nibbles.

A wide range of dessert stalls will be on display including Mrs Dowsons homemade ice-creams, Finch Bakery and Haute Dolci.

A variety of fun activities for the children are being hosted by the Blackburn Rovers Community Trust team.

Attendees can visit a total of 65 stalls celebrating food, fashion and culture as well as a host of funfair rides.

Nasheed artist and Qawwali performer Abdullah will also be making an appearance.

People are advised to park in the Darwen End (Car Park B) or the Blackburn End (Car Park H). Car parking is free.

Entry for infants is free and children (under 16) tickets are priced at £2. A family ticket for two adults and three children is only £10. On the day tickets are priced at £5.
