A FORMER mayor will be guiding teachers from a Quaker college in Philadelphia up Pendle Hill.
Thirty teachers from Pendle Hill College in Philadelphia will hike up the hill, where Quaker founder George Fox had his first vision for the religious society.
Former Pendle mayor Alan Buck, who helped organise the trip, will be on hand to meet the group as they set off at 11.30am from Barley car park today.
Mr Buck said: "I got an email from them saying they would be walking up the hill this week.
"The hill played an important part in the Quaker history as did other parts of Pendle."
