Lancashire Police have released a statement following the arrest of two men in Blackburn.
The incident happened on Thursday, April 27, at the corner of Whalley Old Road and Benson Street.
In the footage, police officers can be seen attempting to detain two men in the front garden of a property.
Videos of the incident have been shared and in one video a man shouts claiming an officer ‘slapped’ a suspect whilst he was on the ground.
The footage also shows the men being put into a van following their arrest and a small group of people gather around to film the incident.
In statement following the incident, a Lancashire Police spokesperson said: “We are aware of a video circulating on social media during which our officers arrest two males.
“Our professional standards department reviewed this footage and other material, including body worn camera footage and other mobile phone footage, which showed a fuller and more accurate picture of events.
“We are satisfied that no wrongdoing has taken place and the officers actions were proportionate.”
Police said Mashad Khan, aged 24, of Whalley Old Road, Blackburn, has been charged with assaulting an emergency worker.
He has been bailed to appear before Blackburn Magistrates Court on July 27.
A 22-year-old man from Blackburn has been giving a caution for obstructing / resisting a constable in execution of their duty.
