A Blackburn arts group has helped to bring some colour and vibrancy to Blackburn Railway Station.

The tunnel connecting the railway station to the Vue Cinemas complex car park has been adorned with a variety of designs produced by local adults.

Members from Arts 2 Heal collaborated with groups to produce the eye-catching artwork at the railway station.

Arts 2 Heal Blackburn was supported by Community Rail Lancashire and aims to connect individuals, alleviate feelings of isolation, and enhance overall well-being.

The exhibition 'Journey To Connection' encourages people to experience the wonder of travelling and the power of positive messages.

Banu Adam, from Arts 2 Heal, said: “Through a stunning collection of birds in flight, we explore the journeys that connect us all, and the potential for discovery that lies within us.

"Each bird carries with it an inspirational message, reminding us of the beauty and wonder of the worlds around us.”

The Mayor of Blackburn with Darwen Cllr Suleman Khonat met with some of those who helped to design the artwork on Thursday (April 27).

He said: “It was wonderful to meet the people who completed these wonderful designs.

“I very much hope passers by will stop even for a moment to take a look at the work which is certainly eye-catching.

“It is projects like these that help to involve the community to develop new skills and make new friends.”
