A man has woken up from a coma following a brutal attack which left him fighting for his life.
Lee Burns, from Blackpool, was attacked outside a bar in Poulton-le-Fylde on Sunday, April 16.
He had been on his stag do at the Grand National at Aintree Racecourse and returned to Poulton to continue the celebrations.
Police were called at around 1.25am to reports that he had suffered a head injury outside Boca Bar on Breck Road.
A fundraiser was launched to help support the victim and his family.
According to the fundraiser Lee went into a coma following the brutal attack that reportedly left him with a fractured skull and bleeds on his brain.

More than £11,600 has been raised so far.
The fundraiser said: “So many people have contacted me in the last 24 hours, asking me to do this.
“They want to make a donation to help support his family following the brutal attack
“He is now fighting for his life in Royal Preston Hospital. Lee is now in a coma.
“If you would like to make a donation, please do so as Lee will never be able to return to his job again following his life saving brain surgery.
“His family’s life has been changed forever as a result of this attack.”
In an update Paul Latham, who organised the fundraiser, said Lee is now awake and tests are being carried out to determine if there is any lasting damage.
He said: “10 days on from the brutal attack on Lee that left him with a fractured skull, two separate bleeds on his brain and a lifesaving emergency operation which involved removing the front of his skull and a part of his brain, I’m delighted to inform you all that Lee is now out of his coma and awake.
“He is responding to basic instructions and is showing good early signs of awareness but we all know this is just the start of a very, very long road to recovery.
“The real work starts now!
“We don’t know if Lee will be able to talk or will be able to walk but his eyes are open and he is alive.
“On behalf of Lee’s family and friends, thank you all so much for caring, praying and donating.
“You’ve all been amazing.”
In the latest police update, officers have arrested a man in connection to the assault.
A 33-year-old man from Blackpool has since been arrested on suspicion of wounding and remains in police custody.
