A SHOCKED customer found ants in their Chinese takeaway, a court heard.
The tiny insects had invaded the cellar where Zen Zen Fish and Chips stored its food containers.
A case against the store, in Redlam, Blackburn, was brought by Blackburn with Darwen council following a complaint from a customer.
Environmental health inspectors visited the takeaway and on Friday the owner, Min Quing Wang, pleaded guilty to seven breaches of food hygiene regulations.
She was fined a total of £700, with £300 costs and a £15 victim surcharge.
The court heard she did not have adequate procedures in place to make sure the premises were clean and free from pests and the kitchen was dirty.
Wang had also failed to register the business in her own name, as required to do.
Improvements have since been carried out, the court was told.
