A brand and design agency has recently announced the promotion of one of its employees to lead designer.

Studio Up North (SUN), based in Rawtenstall, promoted Ya’Qub Mir in recognition of almost four years of exceptional work with the agency.

Ya’Qub joined SUN fresh out of Bolton University and impressed SUN’s founder and creative director, Jamie Kelly, with his energy and enthusiasm.

Jamie said: “After visiting the university and meeting the students, it was immediately obvious that Ya’Qub not only had incredible talent, but his genuine approach, experience and personality shone through.”

Since joining SUN, Ya’Qub has worked on some of the agency's biggest projects, including major rebrands and campaigns for Nelson and Colne College, Soben Construction, Thomas Crapper and Co, Deutsche Bahn, and The National Fostering Group. He has also established himself as a natural leader, building strong relationships with clients and the SUN team.

This promotion comes at an exciting time for SUN, with the agency having enjoyed a successful period of growth and expansion over the past 12 months. During this time, new business wins have been secured across a variety of sectors, including HR, legal, training, and construction, leading to the expansion of the agency team.

Ya’Qub said: “I’m made-up to have been promoted to lead designer. Over the past four years, I’ve been fortunate enough to work on some amazing projects and to be part of a fantastic team. I’m looking forward to continuing to grow and develop within my role, as we continue to expand as an agency.”

Jamie highlighted the important role Ya’Qub has played in the agency's success, adding: “Ya’Qub has been an integral part of the team here at SUN for almost four years now and has been instrumental in driving our growth. We’re excited to see what the future holds for him.”

Ya’Qub’s promotion is a testament to his exceptional work and the agency's commitment to recognising and nurturing talent within its team. As SUN continues to grow and expand, Ya’Qub's expertise and leadership will be crucial in driving the agency's continued success.
