Residents have shared their excitement after a popular cheese-inspired wine bar and restaurant announced its reopening.

The Mouse Trap in Ramsbottom will open on Friday, April 14 after closing more than two months ago, on February 9.

The closure was put in place to allow the team to concentrate on a transforming the menu and venue and was originally supposed to reopen on March 9.

After a month delay, the owners finally announced a reopening date and was met with many excted customers.

The statement said: “We’re back cheese lovers. Our reopen date is Friday, April at 12pm. Biscuit Brothers live 9pm.

“As a little treat, we’re offering 25 per cent off all sharing platters right through until the end of April with a reservation.

“We would also like to take this opportunity to announce a few new dishes...

“We are bringing The Cheese Emporium salads. These little beauties are available to eat in and take away. Vegan option available.

“The Ultimate Cheese Board will be our biggest board yet. It comes with four cheeses, charcuterie meats, grazing fruit, cornichons and olives, The Cheese Emporium chutney and jelly and two bottles of wine, pre-order required.

“The ultimate cheese board serves up to four people. *Excluded from 25 per cent offer*.”

A new menu will be released with a bigger wine list and more spirits for their cocktail menu.

The restaurant’s booking system will be open from April 14 and new opening hours are as follows:

Thursday 5pm - late

Friday 12pm - 12am

Saturday 12pm - 12am

Sunday 12pm - 8pm

One cheese lover responded to the long-awaited announcement saying: “If you think about the vastness of space and how enormous our galaxy is, and how big our planet is, and how small we are, I’m not really eating all that much cheese.”
