Easter is a fantastic time to enjoy Lancashire, with so much countryside to enjoy you get to see the new springtime life blossom as you take in the sights.

With so many fantastic events on the doorstep, you don’t have to fill the car up for a long journey or go too far to find quality events to celebrate Easter together.

You can also find food and drink locations that make the most of the local produce from the UK’s top gastro pubs and Michelin starred restaurants to great value family restaurants and cafes.

EASTER EVENTS

Den of Dragons Competition
Clitheroe Castle, Clitheroe
Open: April 1-30
Cost: Museum admission is free for children with accompanying adult. Adult tickets £4.90.
All entries to the daily dragon egg hunt will go into a prize draw of a goody bag, and visitors can enjoy dragon glider making and decorating too.

 

Easter @ HAPPA
HAPPA, Shores Hey Farm, Burnley
On: April 2 - 17
Cost: £6 admission to the farm required
The HAPPA centre is running a range of activities throughout the Easter period, including an Easter Egg Hunt where you can discover which HAPPA pony has stolen the Easter Bunny’s eggs, a dog focussed Easter activity day and a number of Easter specials at the cafe. There will also be glitter tattoos, face painting and craft sessions within The Activity Room throughout the holidays.

 

Easter Eggstravaganza   
Thornton Hall County Park, Thornton-in-Craven, Nr Barnoldswick
On: April 7-10
Cost: £9.95 per adult, £14.95 per child
Bounce onto Easter Street, become a great eggsplorer and enjoy the ‘Eggventure’ interactive experience, each child will receive a free Easter egg after the event.


Egg Rolling  
Avenham Park, Preston
On: Monday, April 10
Cost: Free
Not only can you join in with the egg rolling competitions, but there are Easter bonnet workshops and competitions, theatre and music performances and more to enjoy throughout the day. It’s a great celebration of all things Easter and Plucky the Chicken will be wandering through the park, wishing everyone a happy Easter.
The Harris will also be running a family crafts workshop with local artist Sarah Hicks. Sarah will be teaching the children how to make inflatable chicken puppets, flying rabbit catapults and easter badges.

 

Easter Family Fun Day  
Waddow Hall Activity Centre, Clitheroe
On: Monday, April 10
Cost: £6 per person
There will be a whole host of crafts, an egg hunt, egg fling, colouring competition, circus skills, giant games, inflatables, grass sledging and more. Each adult will be treated to a hot drink during the day too. 

 

Kids Go WILD at The Mall  

The Mall, Blackburn
On: April 10 - 15
Cost: free
The shopping centre will host a series of events throughout Easter week, including animal modelling workshops. The highlight of the week will be on Friday, April 14 when children can meet baby animal puppets including a chimp, sloth, dodo and sabre-tooth tiger. There will also be larger animal puppets such as mammoth, gorilla, orangutan, panda and tortoise.


The Big Easter Egg Hunt  
Mrs Dowson’s Farm, Clayton Le Dale
Open: April 1-10

Find the clues and unlock the bunny’s secret password to be rewarding with a prize. The Easter Bunny will be on hand to help find your way and take lots of selfies too. Pre-booking required, admission includes the farm’s Lambing Live event.

 

Easter Fun at Ridgeway Farm  
Ridgeway Farm, Blackpool

Cost: £9.99 per child, £8.50 per adult

There are baby animals, daffodils, blossom and loads to see and do. Ridgeway Farm’s Easter fun includes a treasure hunt, and the chance to meet the Easter Bunny himself when he rewards you with a sweet treat. Booking required.


Easter Egg Hunt  
Ribby Hall, Kirkham
Open: April 1 - 15
Cost: £9 per child, two accompanying adults go free. 

This springtime adventure will take you across the Holiday Village in search for a delicious chocolatey treat. Booking required.

 

Easter Trail  
Affinity Lancashire, Fleetwood
Open: April 1-16
Cost: free 

Find the eggs and vote for your favourite for a chance to win a giant Easter egg. The retail outlet will also be holding an Easter craft workshop on April 5, an Alice in Wonderland planting workshop on Saturday, April 8 and hosting The Flowerpot People on April 6 and 7.

For animal lovers the Allday’s Farm Petting Zoo will be there from April 11 to 13 and the Lancashire Hawks and Owls will join the Affinity team on April 15 to 16 too.


Easter Duck Trail  
Martin Mere, Burscough
Open: April 1-16
Cost: £1 per activity sheet, participants must also book admission to the attraction which starts from £8.55. 
Explore the wetlands and discover 25 bright yellow ducks and their friends. The reserve also has a craft room where there will be Easter crafts and you can also buy a rubber duck to take home, decorate and bring back to their annual duck race in May.


Easter Surprise  
Peter Rabbit Explore & Play, Blackpool

Help Peter Rabbit unscramble his playing cards, find the matching Easter eggs, spot hidden ducklings and discover where the rabbit hole leads to receive an Easter Treat. Visitors will be treated to an Easter Finale Show while taking part in the interactive rooms throughout the attraction.

 

Spring Into Easter
Brockholes, Preston

The Spring into Easter event will include an egg hunt with a twist, a paint your own egg for the egg and spoon race and learn all about baby animals on the trail. There will be many more fun games and activities to enjoy during the event.

 

Mill Mouse Easter Trail  
Queen Street Mill Textile Museum, Burnley

Help Mill Mouse find his eggs as you retrace his steps throughout the museum and once they’re all found, participants will be rewarded with a treat and certificate.

 

Down The Rabbit Hole Afternoon Tea
