A Blackburn charity is spreading joy to children across Blackburn with Darwen by giving away Easter eggs.

Secret Santa, which helps disadvantaged and children across Blackburn with Darwen, has obtained 1,000 Easter eggs which they will give away to children in the borough.

The charity’s managing director, Phil Boulding, recently stopped by Darwen police station and gave them 50 Easter eggs to distribute to children.

A police spokesperson said: “We here at Darwen police station just wanted to share our good fortune with you.

“We have been given 50 Easter eggs to distribute to families in need in Darwen.

"The Easter eggs were donated by the charity Secret Santa.

“Today the managing director Phil Boulding and his wife popped into the station, they explained they had been gathering eggs from different sources over the past few weeks. They have obtained over 1,000 eggs.

“The eggs have been distributed to various places including Blackburn with Darwen children's services, Blackburn children's ward, local community centres and many more.

“So thank you and we are sure that the children in receipt of these eggs will be very happy.”
