Police officers have returned two children home after spotting them on their own at a Lancashire train station.
Officers spotted the 12 and 13-year-old children at Lancaster Station. Police said they had no money or train tickets.
Concerned for their welfare, police carried out some safeguarding checks before returning them to their homes in Carlisle.
A spokesperson for the British Transport Police said: “Officers at Lancaster located two children, 12 and 13 years old, who had no tickets or money.
“Concerned for their welfare, safeguarding checks were carried out and we took them back to their homes in Carlisle.”
