A man has been charged following an assault in Blackburn which left the victim needing hospital treatment.
The incident happened on Friday afternoon in the Fawcett Close area in the town.
An air ambulance landed on the estate and police had cordoned off the area behind St Wilfrid’s C of E Academy on Duckworth Street.
The victim, a man in his 40s, suffered serious head injuries and was taken to Royal Preston Hospital.
A police spokesperson said: "At around 3.20pm on Friday (March 24), we were called to Fawcett Close to a report that a man in his 40s had been attacked and sustained head injuries.
"After consultations with the Crown Prosecution Service, we have charged Lee Pearson, 31, of Lincoln Place, Haslingden, with assault occasioning actual bodily harm, affray, possession of an offensive weapon in a public place and dangerous driving.
"He has been remanded to appear before Blackburn Magistrates Court on Monday morning (March 27)."
