A car was rammed, had its windscreen smashed and the driver was assaulted in Blackburn.

Footage shows a Honda being driven directly into the front of a car on Lincoln Road, close to Audley Range yesterday (March 24).

The vehicle was travelling along Lincoln Road when it was hit by a Black Honda Civic which turned on to Lincoln Road from Audley Range.

Three young men exit the vehicle and then another group of men come running towards the car from Audley Range.

One then uses a stick or a bat to smash the windscreen of the car.

Some of the men had their faces covered when the attack took place.

It is believed the driver was then assaulted by some of the gang who then made off.

The incident, which was caught on the vehicle’s dashcam, happened at 5pm on the busy intersection near to PK Foods.

A police spokesperson said: “We were called at 5.01pm yesterday to Lincoln Road, Blackburn, to reports of assault and affray.

"The victim thankfully only suffered minor injuries and didn’t need hospital treatment.
