The Mayor of Pendle has donated all his Mayoral allowance for the year to his chosen charities - Pendleside Hospice, Curry on the Street, Rise Support and Hope for Mankind.
Councillor Yasser Iqbal presented the final donation of £1,000 to the Nelson Community Masjid Foodbank at the Pride of Nelson awards.
The Mayor handed over the cheque to Afaq Khan of the Nelson Community Masjid Foodbank.
The Mayor, who was brought up in Pendle said: “Being Pendle’s first citizen has filled me with pride and it has been good to give back to my community.
“Home is where the heart is, and my heart is very much in Pendle."
