A man has been arrested after officers found a large amount of cannabis during a drugs raid.

As a result of community intelligence, officers gained entry to the property in the Tanhouse area of Skelmersdale on Tuesday (March 21) and recovered a large amount of harvested and dried out cannabis.

A 33-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply a class B drug. He has since been released under investigation.

A spokesperson for the police said: "People can often pass off cannabis production as 'just a bit of weed', whilst overlooking the danger and disorder it brings to families in the neighbourhood.
