An East Lancashire transport and distribution company has launched a major recruitment drive for administration, customer care and office staff.

This comes after family-owned McMurrays Haulage landed a brand new service offering with Palletways, one of Europe's largest providers of express palletised distribution services, with more than 350 network members and hub operations in 20 countries.

Established in Accrington 1971, McMurrays are already proud members of The Pallet Network, the UK's leading pallet network, with more than 100 members and over 120 sites throughout the UK, offering excellent service levels for next day, timed or economy deliveries for any palletised goods.

McMurrays' latest recruitment push continues their rapid expansion in recent years including a record £3- million investment in 2021, which included new fleet and a 50th anniversary liveried truck, as well as a new £1.1 million investment in a brand new 28,000 sq ft building, dedicated to a new warehouse area, offices, and enhanced driver staff facilities.

"Here at McMurrays we are a family-owned company, and we are keen to help and support others in the industry. We would love to invite staff affected by the sad news at Kenyon's Haulage to apply for positions with us."

David McMurray, managing director at McMurrays Haulage, added: "We have a great track record of having staff who stay with us for a long-time and we are thoroughly looking forward to adding to our fantastic team.

“We continue to expand and we are looking for reliable and hardworking individuals to join us on our exciting journey."

Earlier this week, we reported that Blackburn haulage company, Kenyons, had fallen into administration, and it is believed that several former members of staff have since managed to secure work with McMurrays.

McMurrays use modern, state-of-the art vehicles and equipment. They have an excellent training programme and competitive salaries.
