TV presenter Paddy McGuinness could not help but have a quip at his co-host's choice of coffee during rehearsals for tonight's Comic Relief.

He is presenting Red Nose Day tonight, Friday, along with Blackburn TV star AJ Odudu.

And during a coffee break, he chose a Greggs while AJ opted for a Pret coffee.

Posting on his Instagram account he described her actions as shocking

He said: "She’s changed! I’ve been rehearsing and a filming with @ajodudu for @comicrelief.

"PS I’ve revoked AJ’s Northern points for this egregious behaviour. #comicrelief #friday"

Paddy has previously shared his love for Greggs when he starred in a number of adverts 15 years ago.

He starred in one Greggs advert set in Bolton featuring the town hall steps and the previous bakery on Newport Street.

He spoked to someone called Frank in the advert asking about his holiday in Mauritius before telling him, "let's go to Greggs".

He then approaches the bakery breathing in the scent of baked goods before saying "ooh that fresh baked smell, welcome to paradise".

The duo go inside Greggs and Paddy treats himself to something to eat with Frank asking for a bite, as they sit on the town hall steps.

Paddy also starred in another Greggs advert where he took a woman out of a fancy restaurant and they enjoyed a treat from the bakery instead.

Comic Relief was co-founded by Richard Curtis and Sir Lenny Henry in 1985 and this year the fundraiser will support people struggling with the cost of living crisis and tackle issues such as homelessness, mental health problems and food poverty.

The duo are part of the 2023 Comic Relief Red Nose Day programme which will see them also joined by David Tennant, Joel Dommett and Zoe Ball as presenters on BBC One.

Comic Relief 2023 will air live from Salford’s MediaCity on BBC One on March 17 at 7pm.
