An East Lancs drama group will perform an Easter play next month to celebrate the holiday.
Trinity Drama Group will present the one-act play No Name in the Street by Edward Murch at the Trinity Church and Community Hub in Clitheroe on Wednesday, April 5 at 7.30pm.
The play focusses on the Holy Week and shows the events leading up to the crucifixion through the eyes of a mother searching for her son.
It is described as “dramatic and powerful in its simplicity” and producer Kate Walmsley hopes the audience will reflect on how we react to several major themes within the play.
She said: “We’ve created a modern interpretation of how people view and respond to the event leading up to Easter Sunday. Hopefully, audiences will be able to reflect on how, as humans, we react to major themes such as responsibility, judgement, and loyalty.
“The cast have been brilliant to work with as they have all brought their own personalities and experiences into their characters. We’re all so excited to perform it.”
The play, presented under the auspices of Clitheroe Christians in Partnership, is free to attend and no tickets are required, though donations will be welcomed.
Refreshments will be served after the play at around 8.20pm.
