ACTORS from an East Lancs stage collective are in rehearsals for an Easter Play.

Members of the Trinity Drama Group in Clitheroe will present the one-act No Name in the Street by Edward Murch on Wednesday, April 5, at 7.30pm.

Under the Clitheroe Christians in Partnership banner, refreshments will be served after the play at about 8.20 pm.

Promoters say the play is free to attend and no tickets are required. Donations will be welcomed.

A spokesman said: "The play is about Holy Week and is dramatic and powerful in its simplicity. The events leading up to the Crucifixion are seen through the eyes of a mother searching for her son.

"There are several new members of the group in the cast and Kate Walmsley is producing for Trinity Drama Group for the first time."

Kate added: "We've created a modern interpretation of how people view and respond to the events leading up to Easter Sunday.

"Hopefully, audiences will be able to reflect on how, as humans, we react to major themes such as responsibility, judgement and loyalty.

"The cast has been brilliant to work with as they have all brought their own personalities and experiences into their characters."
