A community inter-faith group met with Pendle MP Andrew Stephenson to present him with a copy of the Quran.

The Light Foundation, which hosts events to help break down misconceptions and promote community cohesion, visited the offices of Mr Stephenson over the weekend.

Dr. Arfan Iqbal and Nadeem Ashfaq gifted a copy of an English translation of the Quran as 'a gesture of new-friendships being built'.

The Preston based group said: "We spoke about our ongoing work in creating strong and cohesive communities, where people share knowledge, attitudes and values to promote peace and tolerance, and where everyone is free to follow their religion or belief without hatred or the feeling of persecution."
