An abandoned car with no insurance has been seized by police.

Officers said they received reports of the abandoned Vauxhall Corsa on Accrington Road, Hapton, next to the roadworks.

The vehicle was checked and officers found it had no insurance.

The car was also causing an obstruction to the highway and has now been recovered.

A spokesperson for the police said: “Report of an abandoned vehicle on Accrington Road next to the roadworks causing an obstruction to the natural flow of the highway.

“This vehicle was checked and came back as holding no valid insurance.

“The vehicle has been recently abandoned and left causing an obstruction to the road and pavement.

“It has now been seized and recovered by our friends at Wards of Burnley.”
