Two men have been arrested after a drugs warrant was executed in Accrington.

On Wednesday, March 1, Lancashire Police were cracking down on crime as part of Operation Vanquish.

A number of warrants were conducted across Lancashire as part of the operation, including a warrant executed in Accrington under the Misuse of Drugs Act.

During the search, drugs were seized along with mobile phones, cash, and weapons including a cosh and a BB gun.

Two men aged 19 and 21 were arrested on suspicion of possession of class A drugs with the intention to supply.

Superintendent Chris Hardy, lead for Operation Vanquish, said: “Op Vanquish uses both overt and covert policing to tackle the issues that matter the most to our communities.

“We are dedicated to disrupting drug supply, and those who are involved in drugs and associated criminality across our country.

“A huge thank you to the community who provide us with intelligence and ongoing support. We will continue to listen to you and work together to keep Lancashire a safe place to live, work and visit.”
