Police appealing for dashcam footage after cyclist injured near Mere Brow village yesterday (February 13).

The cyclist has been hospitalised as a result of his injuries, after coming off his bike on Southport New Road, near to the junction of Sugar Stubbs Lane.

The man is currently at Southport Hospital and is in a stable condition.

Police are now asking any witnesses, or motorists with dashcam footage, to come forward. 

A police spokesperson said: “We are appealing for witnesses and dashboard mounted camera footage after a cyclist came off his bike and suffered injuries.

“We were called at around 12.10pm yesterday (Monday 13th February 2023) to a report of an incident on Southport New Road, near to the junction of Sugar Stubbs Lane.

“The man is currently at Southport Hospital in a stable condition.

“We are appealing for information following this incident.”
