Nine drivers have been fined by the courts for speeding on the Grane Road and Haslingden Road.

The busy road, which connects Blackburn with Haslingden, has automatic speed cameras catching motorists at 30mph, 40mph and 50mph.

So far in January, nine drivers from Blackburn have appeared before the courts to be fined for speeding.

Macauley East, 27, has been fined £220, ordered to pay costs of £90 and a surcharge of £88 to victim services.

East, of Sulby Road, Blackburn, was driving more than 30mph between the Haslingden bypass and Holden Place eastbound on June 23.

He was found guilty of the offence by Preston Magistrates Court on January 9.

His licence has also been endorsed with three points, and he has until February 6 to pay the full balance of £398.

Daniel Metcalfe, 24, was fined £116 for speeding between Holden Place and the Haslingden bypass, in the 30mph zone on February 8.

Metcalfe, of Caltha Drive, Lower Darwen, was spared disqualification due to him running his own business, which he has done for eight years, and as he cares for his grandparents.

Metcalfe pleaded guilty at Preston Magistrates Court and was also ordered to pay costs of £110 and funding to victim services of £34, a total payment of £260 owed, by February 1. His licence was endorsed with three points.

Adam Daughtry, 31, was caught driving on the Grane Road between Holden Place and the Haslingden bypass faster than 30mph on June 19.

Daughtry, of Heys Lane, Blackburn, has been fined £220, ordered to pay £88 to victim services and costs of £90 after being found guilty by Preston Magistrates Court on January 3.

His driving licence has been endorsed with three points. The payment of £398 must be paid by January 31.

Mohammed Zakir Khan, 21, has been fined £83 after driving faster than 30mph on the Grane Road between Holden Place and the Haslingden bypass on June 19.

Khan, of Lancaster Place, Blackburn, pleaded guilty on January 3 to the offence.

He was also ordered to pay a surcharge to fund victim services of £33 and costs of £90. His driving licence was endorsed with three points.

Maymoonah Hajee, 35, was driving faster than 40mph on June 26 near the former Pack Restaurant, Belthorn.

Hajee, of Winchester Street, Blackburn, pleaded guilty on January 13 at Preston Magistrates Court.

She was fined £40 and ordered to pay costs of £60 and funds to victim services of £16.

Her driving licence was endorsed with three points. The payment of £146 must be settled by February 10.

Alexis Peyou-Monjap, 54, has been fined £40 after being caught driving faster than 40mph on Haslingden Road, on June 28.

Peyou-Monjap, of Canterbury Street, Blackburn, was also ordered to pay £16 toward victim services and costs of £90 after pleading guilty to the offence in Preston Magistrates Court on January 17.

His driving licence was endorsed with 3 points.

Mohmed Tailor, 45, was speeding on Haslingden Road, which has a speed limit of 40mph on June 12.

Tailor, of Hazel Close, Blackburn, pleaded guilty on January 16 and was given three points on his licence.

He was also fined £40, ordered to pay a surcharge to victim services of £34 and costs of £110.

Imran Shakeel, 52, has been fined £220 after speeding on Haslingden Road near the Pack Restaurant on June 23.

Shakeel, of St. James Street, Blackburn, was proved guilty at Preston Magistrates Court on January 10.

His licence has been endorsed with three points and he must also pay a surcharge of £88 for victim services and costs of £90.

Farah Askariamiri, 37, was driving faster than 40mph on June 24 near the former Pack Restaurant, Belthorn.

Askariamiri, of Ramsgreave Drive, Blackburn, pleaded guilty on January 12 in Preston Magistrates Court.

She was fined £146, and ordered to pay £58 to victim services and costs of £90.

Her licence was also endorsed with three points.
