Police are appealing for information following a crash on the M65.

Officers believe two cars may have been travelling in convoy at the time of the crash and want anyone with dashcam footage to come forward.

The incident occurred around 2.45pm on January 16 on the eastbound carriageway of the M65 between junction 11 for Crow Wood and junction 12 for Brierfield/Nelson.

The crash involved two cars - a white Vauxhall Corsa and a Kia Rio, which resulted in the driver of the Kia receiving injuries.

A spokesperson for the police said: "Around 2.45pm on January 16, a road traffic collision occurred on the M65 eastbound carriageway between J11 (Crow Wood) and J12 (Brierfield/Nelson).

"A white Vauxhall Corsa was involved in a crash with a white Kia Rio, which resulted in injuries to the driver of the Kia.

"Subsequent analysis of dashcam footage submitted by a witness shows that the white Vauxhall Corsa may have been driving in convoy with a grey Volkswagen Golf immediately prior to the crash.

"If you saw these vehicles driving in convoy around this time, we would like to hear from you.

"If you have any information or video footage relating to this incident, please email PC 368 Strickland of the Lancashire Constabulary Tactical Operations Division at 368@lancashire.police.uk.
