An application has been submitted seeking permission from the council to turn a fast food takeaway into dentists.
Fiona Richardson, of Berry Lane Dental Surgery in Longridge, lodged the plans with Ribble Valley Council last week, with the intention of expanding the surgery into the premises next door.
A planning statement submitted alongside the proposals reads: “The applicant wishes to further extend the dental practice into the ground floor of No 9 and will in so doing become the sole occupier of the premises to provide extended dental health care in Longridge.
“No external alteration is proposed. All access will be via a new internal opening connecting the existing waiting room to the proposed two new additional surgeries.
“The existing entrance door from Berry Lane will be retained but locked closed and not used, to maintain the façade.
“The proposal will have no detrimental impacts on the building, local area and surroundings, local residents, infrastructure, etc.
“We respectfully request that this proposal is therefore considered an appropriate change of use to the property.”
If the plans are approved, there will be 12 part time roles created at the surgery and one full time role.
The surgery will be open from 8.15am until 5.30pm Monday to Friday.
Anyone wishing to comment on the proposals has until February 9 to do so.
