Six men have been jailed after police took down a heroin and crack cocaine ring called the ‘Tiger Line’.

Tens of thousands of pounds worth of drugs and cash were seized by officers who managed to take down the group operating in Burnley in 2021.

On Friday (January 20), Judge Sara Dodd sent six of the nine men involved to jail for a total of 24 years and six months.

The other three received suspended sentences.

Abdul Ahad, 27, of Kent Street, Burnley, was jailed for seven years and 10 months after pleading guilty to conspiracy to supply class A drugs.

Mohammed Hamza Khan, 26, of March Street, Burnley, was jailed for four years and nine months for conspiracy to supply class A drugs.

Abdul Alam, 24, also of Kent Street, Burnley, was jailed for three years and nine months for conspiracy to supply class A drugs.

Abdul Basit, 24, of Clive Street Burnley, was jailed for two years and 10 months for conspiracy to supply class A drugs.

Basit was also jailed for a further two years for his involvement in a violent disorder.

Mohammed Ahmed, 25, of Arley Gardens, Burnley, was jailed for two years and eight months for conspiracy to supply class A drugs.

Mohammad Saghir, 40, of no fixed abode, was jailed for two years and eight months for conspiracy to supply class A drugs.

Mohammed Shafi, 36, of Ormerod Road, Burnley, was given a sentence of 22 months suspended for 18 months for conspiracy to supply class A drugs.

Shafi must complete 25 rehabilitation days, 100 hours of unpaid work and a six-month drink rehabilitation requirement.

Aaron Hanson, 19, of Plover Street, Burnley, was given a 12-month sentence suspended for 12 months for being concerned in the supply of class A drugs.

He must also complete 80 hours of unpaid work and 30 days of rehabilitation activity.

Viliam Stas, 23, of Clough Road, Nelson, was handed a sentence of one year and seven months, suspended for 12 months for being concerned in the supply of class A drugs.

He must also complete 80 hours of unpaid work and 25 rehabilitation requirement days.

Officers were first made aware of the operation in February after they saw a man drug dealing near Abel Street, Burnley.

From this, they encountered more and more drug deals of heroin and crack cocaine, linking together the group who were behind the ‘Tiger Line’, with the last offender being arrested six months later in August.

Throughout the operation, officers seized a total of 107.35 grams of diamorphine, known more commonly as heroin, and 44.5 grams of crack cocaine.

They also seized £22,850 in cash, weapons including a knuckle duster, machete, and a hammer, as well as drug paraphernalia such as scales and snap bags.
