A duck, that is infamous for his naughty antics in Chorley, has appeared on ITV show This Morning.

Ham the four-year-old Indian Runner duck has been described as the country’s naughtiest bird, known in the community for escaping from his house, chasing bin lorries and even enjoying the occasional cup of tea.

Owner, Charlotte Taylor-Dugdale, was on the show talking about the duck and his ever-growing social media presence.

She told Philip Schofield and Holly Willoughby: “We lost another duck, Pea, in 2021 and I think that’s why Ham keeps on escaping. He’s looking for her.

“He is like my fourth child and everybody in the community loves him.”

While he may be loved Ham also has a naughty side and has been known to chase cats and bin lorries.

Charlotte said: “He chases local cats, terrorises the local bin lorry and tries to get in the pub.

“He follows people to school. He even goes around to a woman’s house and she makes him a cup of tea.

Testing the theory, Holly gave Ham some of her own tea which he happily started drinking.

Charlotte said: “He knows where he lives and comes back when called. One time he didn’t come back for hours and there was a search party.

“A person was keeping him in the shed thinking he was a stray."

Ham has become infamous on the Facebook group Chorley Life, where members often post about his whereabouts and antics.

Charlotte said: “It started on Chorley Life and from there it blew up and people are always making posts about him.

“Now there are posts saying ‘Ham’s on the loose’, ‘He’s at my house’.”

Charlotte now dreams of taking Ham’s social media fame a step further and has plans to write a children’s book, with him as the star character.
