A worried cat owner is appealing to the public for any information about her missing pet – and she is continuing to offer a £500 reward to find her cat who has been missing for four months.

Socks is a 12-year-old neutered house cat who belonged to Amy Weeks' grandma, before she had to go into a nursing home due to having vascular dementia.

The beloved feline has been missing since September 20 at 5.45am, and was last seen in Thorney Bank Road, Hapton, Burnley.

Amy first put an appeal out in the Lancashire Telegraph back in October and four months since her cat went missing, she is now appealing for anyone with any information to come forward.

Socks is described as a large, male tabby, with a distinct all-white nose/muzzle with white front and back paws/legs with a striped tail.

Amy and her family are "heartbroken" by his disappearance but refuse to give up hope they will be reunited soon.

She said: “There have literally been zero sightings at all, nothing of significance any way.

“I do have people keeping an eye out for me all over Facebook which is really reassuring, and I do get a lot of pictures of 'found' cats but they're never him.

“It's just heart-breaking and so saddening as he is such a soft special cat and with the recent weather it's just been unbearable.

“We miss him every single day and won't give up the search we just need everyone aware of him.

“He could be anywhere by now.

“He is greatly missed; we are just devastated, and it scares me that I may never find out what's happened.”

Amy said Socks went missing when she was away on holiday.

She said: “Socks escaped when we were on holiday for my 30th birthday, we had family staying in the house to look after him.

“I didn't want to put him in a cattery as he would have hated this, I thought I was doing the right thing by leaving him comfortable in his own surroundings but unfortunately my worst nightmare happened, and he wasn't being watched closely enough and has managed to get out of the house.

“We cut our holiday short and booked the first flight back in the hopes he would come back to my voice.”

Amy has advised not to shout or chase Socks as he will not approach people but to try to take a picture and send it to her on 07951 768598.
