Cast and crew of the Sky comedy show, Brassic, returned to East Lancashire earlier this week.

On Tuesday, January 11, film trailers and wagons, thought to belong to the Brassic team, were spotted on Newchurch Road in Stacksteads, near Bacup.

Brassic fan, Paula Trickett, took a picture of the wagons and shared it to a Facebook fan page.

She said: “Got a little excited when this came past me today heading up to Bacup.”

Ruth Carnet, who is directing series five of the show, posted a picture of the Brassic clapperboard and said: “Busy and wet day with the amazing team.”

Filming for the fifth season, which is set to air later this year, started last August.

Bacup doubles as the backdrop to the series, the fictional town of Hawley, and filming has taken place in the town and surrounding areas.

Last January, camera crews and the star-studded cast were spotted in Rising Bridge.

In October, Michelle Keegan, Joe Gilgun and other cast members visited The Circle in Bacup, praising its interiors and “ amazing pizza”.

The cast and crew promised to return to the venue.

Brassic is a comedy-drama television series which follows the lives of Vinnie O'Neill, played by Chorley actor Joe Gilgun, and his friends as they find unconventional ways to win at life in their northern home town.

Season four aired in September and followed Vinnie as he tracked down Erin (Keegan), who fled Hawley at the end of the previous series to escape dangerous criminal Terence McCann.
