Viral drinks Prime Hydration, which have been created by two YouTube stars, have been flying of the shelves of Aldi stores in East Lancashire after going on sale this morning (December 29).

Across the UK, some customers have been queueing since 5am in a bid to get their hands on the hydration drinks, which have been created by social media influencers KSI, real name Olajide Olatunji, and Logan Paul.

One customer shared a picture of the remaining stock in a Blackburn store on Bolton Road and said: “Prime is going like the clappers in Aldi.”

The drink has been making headlines since its initial release in January, often selling out in major supermarkets and on the official website, with reports of it being resold for inflated prices online.

On eBay the drinks, which normally retail for £2, bottles are being sold for hundreds, if not thousands, from sellers who live less than 25 miles from the Blackburn area.

At the time of writing one seller, who lives 15 miles from a BB1 postcode, listed the drink for £3,000. Another, who lived 10 miles from the Blackburn area, was asking for £500 for a bottle of the blue raspberry flavour.

Prime Hydration drinks were released in January of this year but went on sale in Aldi stores today.

It is available to buy as a Specialbuy, while stocks last, for £1.99.

The drink, which is 10 per cent coconut water, contains electrolytes and B vitamins and BCAAs, has zero sugar and around 20 calories per bottle.

Aldi shoppers can choose from three different flavours: Blue Raspberry, Lemon and Lime, and Ice Pop.

An Aldi spokesperson said: “The supermarket is expecting high demand so a purchase limit of one of each variant per customer has been set to ensure as many people as possible get the opportunity to buy the product.”

KSI rose to fame making YouTube videos of himself playing the football video game FIFA, while fellow YouTuber Logan Paul is perhaps best known for filming a dead body - thought to be a suicide victim - while making a video in Japan, and also for being the brother of Jake Paul who boxes washed up MMA fighters and is due to fight Tyson Fury's younger half-brother Tommy Fury.

The two then turned amateur boxers, drawing big crowds for show fights streamed online, before burying their feud to create the Prime drinks brand.
