A major water leak in a town centre property forced a hair salon to close in the run up to Christmas.
The Bank Chambers building on Lord Street West, based next to the old Lloyds Bank, houses a number of businesses on the ground floor including Dark Secrets Hair.
A burst pipe or leak forced the business to close last Monday (December 19) in the run up to one the hair salon’s busiest time of the year.
The leak is also believed to have affected other businesses in the property including a charity shop on the corner.
It is unclear what caused the leak, which is believed to have happened on the third floor of the building which is not linked to the businesses below.
A spokesperson for Dark Secrets Hair said: “We just wanted to let all our customers know the reason behind why we have been closed for a week.
“We would like to apologise to all our customers for the inconvenience caused but this was totally out of our control.”
“We are hoping to be up and running again soon as the landlord been contacted.
"We will keep customers updated.”
Adjoining businesses such as Bees Knees Bar, based in a property next door, are not affected.
