The manager of a Blackburn pub is ‘blown-away’ after it was honoured in an annual Christmas competition.
The Foundry, on Livesey Branch Road, was announced as the winner of an annual Christmas Competition run by Lancashire-based brewer and hotelier, Daniel Thwaites.
The pub came out on top due thanks to ‘full suite of festive events’ and it’s ‘exceptional promotion and branding’.
It beat more than 200 other establishments to bag the accolade.
Paul Bloomer, General Manager at The Foundry, said: “To say I’m blown away would be an understatement.
“It’s fantastic to be recognised for our efforts, especially within our first year of trade.
"It’s genuinely heart-warming and a valued reward to the hard work and dedication of the efforts of our team.
“Our customer has always been at the heart of everything that we do.”
The highly awaited Thwaites Christmas Competition aims to recognise and reward Thwaites pubs’ which have gone above and beyond to provide an exceptional Christmas to their customers.
From festive events to jaw-dropping decorations, 220 pubs were in the running, with the final six being announced this week.
Also named on the shortlist were The Shippons in Irby, Merseyside, The Queens in Fleetwood, The Smithy Inn in Holme, and Old Hornes, High Bradfield.
Andrew Buchanan, Director of Pubs and Brewing at Daniel Thwaites, added: “All of the finalists and winners of this year’s Thwaites Christmas Competition have a lot to be proud of.
“It has been a challenging year for the industry, but despite this, they have rallied through the festive season so give our customers an action-packed Christmas.
