Two schools and one nursery in East Lancashire are closed today (December 16) after some equipment failure.
Burst pipes and broken boilers are to blame for the closures.
Primary schools in Accrington and Barrowford won’t be open today, as well as a nursery in Nelson.
For many schools across the county, it is the last day of term before they break up for Christmas.
Here is a full list of school closures in East Lancashire today and why they are closed:
Hyndburn
- St Mary Magdalen's Church of England Primary School, Devonshire Street, Accrington
Reason: Breakdown of equipment and no water.
There is no heating as the gas valve has failed on boiler contactor ordering new part won't arrive until after lunchtime
Pendle
- St Thomas Church of England Primary School, Wheatley Lane Road, Barrowford
Reason: No water and no Heating.
The school’s pipes broke on Thursday (December 15) leading to a flood.
The school has been unable to switch on the water and heating today.
- Nelson McMillan Nursery School, Railway Street, Nelson
Reason: No heating as the boiler has been condemned. Replacement taking place. Alternative heating methods not suitable.
Arkholme Church of England School in Lancaster has also closed due to flooding caused by a burst pipe.
