A Nelson resident has been fined more than £500 and has had his music equipment seized by council officers.
Michael Paisley pleaded guilty to causing a noise nuisance and was handed a fine and costs totalling £568 at Burnley Magistrates’ Court.
The court then grant a warrant application to enter the property on Pine Street and seize the equipment.
On Tuesday, December 6, an officer from Pendle Borough Council’s Environmental Health Team entered the property with a locksmith and local police to seize the music system.
Leader of Pendle Borough Council, Councillor Nadeem Ahmed, said: “I am glad this noise nightmare is over for people living in this part of Pine Street.
“Even people living two doors down could hear the loud music which was affecting the quality of life for neighbouring residents.
“Our Environmental Health Officers visited to experience the unacceptably loud music and have now successfully taken the perpetrator to court to put a stop to what had been a long-standing problem.”
Councillor Ahmed added: “Please be considerate to your neighbours!
"Minimise the noise you make including from DIY jobs or from your music system, otherwise you could risk a hefty fine.”
The council said anyone affected by noisy neighbours should visit the Council’s website to find out how to take action and report a noise nuisance www.pendle.gov.uk/noise.
