Finch Bakery’s new Blackburn kiosk is set to open today (December 1).

The Instagram famous bakery chain will open at The Mall and has taken over the former Millie’s Cookies site in the town centre shopping complex.

The shop has created five new jobs and owners Lauren Sinclair and Rachel Finch said they can't wait to get started with their new venture.

They said: “There are still some bits to do but it’s here.

“Finch Bakery Blackburn will be opening this Thursday at 10.30am.

“We are buzzing to be in our hometown and look how fabulous our new kiosk is.

“Now to fill it with cake.”

Lauren and Rachel have been answering questions from their 180,000 Instagram followers about the new site.

One fan asked if prices at Blackburn will be the same as their Great Harwood site.

They said: “Yes but you get 10 per cent off if you have a student card.”

Another person asked if they will be selling cupcakes but the twins had some bad news for fans of this treat.

They said: “Cupcakes are our current least selling item so for the first few weeks at least we won't have cupcakes.

“However, we will have some school cake, the sprinkles of which are now suitable for vegetarians.”

The twins also confirmed the site will be open from 10.30am until 5.30pm Monday to Friday.

At weekend it will be open from 10.30am until 4.30pm.

The twins said they will be at the open day along with two other members of staff.

Loraine Jones, general manager at The Mall Blackburn, said: “We are over the moon to be welcoming Finch Bakery to The Mall.

“The business is built on an enviable reputation for out of this world cakes, brownies, cake jars and celebration bakes, so I am sure our shoppers will share our enthusiasm for their amazing products!”

This is Finch Bakery’s third venture with a shop in Great Harwood and a pop-up shop in Harvey Nichols in Manchester.
